As a Company it is important to us that we work closely with local Licensing and the Police, to uphold, support and implement of SIA initiatives and regulation in order to promote and influence the future development of the security industry. We are passionate about the Security Industry and have vast experience in the provision of Security personnel. Our Solutions are driven by Customer Service and Quality Management. All our personnel are fully trained in accordance with the Security Authority Industry (SIA). Additional training is offered to all employees which we feel is beneficial to their roles at Active Security Solutions North Yorkshire Limited, First Aid, Conflict Management, Customer Service, Equality and Diversity to name a few. We work with a locally with a training provider to ensure all employees are trained accordingly.

Another busy morning for our teams as we continue supporting events across the North.

Here, our team has deployed a Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) system, designed to help keep visitors, staff and the local community safe throughout the weekend.

When the UK Terrorism Threat Level Changes… Do Your Risk Assessments?

As security professionals, we cannot afford to treat risk assessments as static documents.

A change in the UK Terrorism Threat Level is a clear signal that the risk landscape has shifted, and your current control measures may no longer be sufficient.

Too often, organisations delay reviewing their assessments, relying on procedures that were designed for a different level of threat. That gap is where vulnerability exists.

We treat risk assessments as live operational tools. When the threat level changes, we immediately review:

● Site vulnerabilities and access points
● Search and screening procedures
● Staff awareness and preparedness
● Emergency response plans
● Coordination with partners and authorities

This isn’t about overreacting, it’s about being proportionate, informed, and prepared.

With the introduction of Martyn’s Law, this level of responsiveness is quickly becoming an expectation, not a choice.

10 Years of Active Security Solutions North Yorkshire. Honestly… it’s hard to put into words what this journey has meant.

10 years ago, Wayne and I were just two Door Supervisors in Scarborough with a simple mindset: Work hard, look after people, places and communities, and do the job properly.

No big plan. No shortcuts. Just standards.
There were times we didn’t know if it would work. There were moments (especially during COVID) where everything could have gone the other way.

But we kept going. We adapted. We diversified and we backed our people.

Fast forward to today: We’re now a team of 300+ operating across multiple regions, delivering at major venues, events, and supporting businesses every day.

But the numbers don’t matter as much as this 👇

The people.

The team who represent us on the ground, The team who work behind the scenes, The clients who trusted us early on.
The relationships we’ve built over the years.
That’s what Active is.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, not just a company, but a reputation for doing things the right way.

And we’re only getting started.
