A hazy early summer day.....
I decided recently to share more of the day to day views of the sister..... So you can get a feel for how dramatically they change and where the inspiration for my colour palette comes from.... They never stop shifting.... And today there's a milky blue quality to the calm sea...... The sisters are obscured slightly by a haze... Which unfortunately only the eye can see in real time......

An emotional day in the studio.

This is Millie, she was my first dog. She died 8 years ago and I have carried her ashes with me since. Not really knowing what to do and not wanting to scatter them somewhere I will move on from.

So this idea came. I have blended her ashes into clay and used that to create a sculpture of her. I only have one photograph of her to work from but I can remember the fluffyness of the fur under her ears and the wiry hair down her neck.....

She was a feisty girl and I was her 5th and final companion, people kept giving up on her.
I adopted her while I was walking to Scotland. We spent 6 weeks living in the woodlands and walking together. She ran off in the mountains and 8 days later we finally found each other. Not without the help and kindness of the locals.

I have my second dog Floyd to work with next. It's been lovely to reminisce as I work and think of our adventures.

Hello All,

Winter is sliding gently into Cuckmere with the first morning frost this morning.

I will be opening this weekend and next as part of the Artist Open Houses. 10 until 5.

Christmas gifts and decorations, plus a chance to grab a bargain from the seconds sale. Nothing wrong with a wonky pot.
