Spring has sprung in Colyford and Uplyme in the last week.

A customer’s garden in Seaton; the annual display of anemones heralds the start of spring. In May this will all be strimmed and raked off followed by a mowing regime throughout the season until end of October.

At long last the sun is out in Uplyme and I can feel the warmth too. Spring is emerging with this camellia and viburnum out in flower alongside snowdrops and daffodils.

Continuing my work at an elderly customer in Dalwood yesterday. Pruning and preliminary weeding of the borders and to reopen the path that was overgrown. Another section done; more to do over the coming weeks.

Today I have been working in Dalwood for an elderly couple carrying out some pruning to restore some cohesion and structure in their front garden. This is my third visit today and I am slowly getting it back in order. Some before and after shots. I particularly enjoyed pruning the corkscrew hazel.

Trimming structural yew plants at my customer’s garden earlier this month. The soft clippings are put into the compost bays in the garden. One of my favourite plants to trim.

From my National Trust days….

2024 update: The list of National Trust Gardens supported with Plant Belle designs and supports is still growing, with Hampshire's Hinton Ampner joining the list this month (February 2024). The list so far; Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Hidcote Manor, Castle Drogo, Knightshayes Court, Saltram, Dunham....
