We don’t often share reels but this one seems fitting. Did you no tree surgery is one of the most labour intensive jobs. Your quote may look a lot but that £1000 removal you pay for can cost us up to £350 in labour £150 in fuel plus business running costs leaving £500 for directors salary and business profit for equipment now it doesn’t look a lot if it runs in to 2 days and removed 8-2 on your job isn’t 6 hrs for us once we set of to the yard load up head to your job tip of after go home it ends up been a 10hr day all those things behind the scenes are factored in to every quote.

Enjoy your weekend so of us may still be working out quoting doing maintenance etc no rest for the wicked.

Just thought I’d reach out again were still on the lookout for a larger yard. Ideally around Selby area but don’t mind 20mins travel out of the area.
Need to be big enough to fit 2 transit tipper sized trucks & a trailer and place a container or 2 and space for log pile & woodchip and a pollytunnel for log drying. Need to have access 7am-7pm power not essential as we can run a generator. 1/4-1/2 acre space would be perfect but can accommodate a smaller space.

We’ve treated the stump grinder to some new teeth all ready for the summer. But the stumps keep coming in so I think we might need to buy a bigger stump grinder 🤔

🌳 TREE WORK DURING NESTING SEASON – LET'S CLEAR THIS UP 🌳

One of the most common things we hear is: "You can't cut trees between March and August."

The truth? That's not quite right.

There isn't a blanket ban on tree work during nesting season. What the law does protect are active bird nests, nesting birds, and their eggs.

That's why, before any work begins, we carry out thorough checks for nesting activity 5 days prior and remain alert throughout the job.

If an active nest is found, work is stopped and the area is left undisturbed until it's safe and legal to proceed. 🐦✅

Tree work doesn't simply stop for six months of the year. Dangerous trees still need attention, storm damage still needs clearing, and trees still require management to keep people and property safe.

The important thing is that the work is carried out responsibly, with proper checks in place and full respect for wildlife legislation.

Good tree care and wildlife protection go hand in hand – it's not one or the other.

When conifers forget they’re supposed to be a hedge and start auditioning for a role as a forest… 🌲🌲🌲😂

This overgrown bunch had got a little carried away, so we gave them a sensible haircut and brought them back down to a manageable hedge. The bonus? The surrounding “surfing trees” can now breathe, spread out, and continue catching waves in the wind without being crowded out. 🌳🏄‍♂️

Before the keyboard conservation officers arrive in the comments… yes, we carried out all the required nesting bird checks and followed the correct procedures before any work started. 🐦✅

The result: less jungle, more garden, happier trees, and a hedge that won’t need a mountaineering team to maintain next time. 😎

Nice to have a break from the tree work with a bit of hedge cutting for a regular client.

If your hedges are getting a little unruly do not hesitate to get in touch for a tidy up.

And before anyone says you shouldn’t be doing that. There is no legality’s around hedge cutting as long as nesting bird checks are doing during nesting bird season. Fortunately for this hedge it was just a routine cut which wouldn’t disturb anything if there was something there to start.
