Every now and again we get an enquiry to do something a little out the ordinary.
Customer had dropped this marble sliding tray out of her unit and since they had owned it since the year dot they really didn’t want to replace it. 3 hours later one broken piece is now back to its former glory and a very grateful customer.

And in a blink of an eye Granite Marvel is now 10 years old!!!
Setting off in that Citroen Relay with 100’000 on the clock back in 2016 i wasn’t quite sure what the future held? Like any business we’ve had our ups and downs, but in total I’m 24 years in and I still honestly love what I do and probably can’t see myself doing anything else before I kick the bucket.😂
If I can highlight one thing that someone said to me when I first started out to be 100% on the money it was…”Your only as good as the people that work for you”. And over the last couple of years I’ve had this put to the test on more occasions then I’d have liked. 😩
Massive thank you to the regular people we sub contract to who we absolutely wouldn’t be where we are today without. Also the people who have reached out and used us through word of mouth or through our social media platforms throughout the years we appreciate every single one of you. 🙌🏻

Definite break from the usual schedule. Little 26 hour day to Holyhead - ⛴️ - Dublin - Belfast then back. Templater had a bit of a mare but after a few alterations the customer was extremely happy with their new Silestone Calacatta Marmo worktops. 🇮🇪⛴️

Biggest lift of 2026 so far goes to this afternoon’s installation in Hull. The material is Arabieto Bianco quartz with classic waterfall edge, full height cladding with the addition of a small shelf which is a nice touch. The island was a whopping 3160mm x 1561mm and weighing in at just over 380KG and my back can vouch for it! Cookhouse of York supplied and fitted the kitchen who always do a fantastic job and make the template and installation side a pleasure to work alongside.

Take a look at this spectacular job we fitted a while ago in York for a couple doing a big renovation. We have received these photos and just WOW! It took 5 of us to lift this whopping 400KG Silver Paradiso Granite island into the terraced house with tight access. It has full waterfall legs either side of island, and a full splashback behind the hob with upstands all round. And just to make it even better they had a Staffy just like me! 💙

We were down at the International Centre in Telford this week fitting a display for the Wickes Expo event for PWS. It’s always nice to showcase our skills and live up to our high standards under the Safecontractor scheme by using the best RPE on the market in the Optrel Swiss Air Respiratory System.

“A special shout-out to Paul Umpleby – excellent use of the H-class extraction unit, full RPE, and water suppression while working on mitred edges. This was observed and positively commented on by Wickes senior management – well done, Paul!”

Dekton Laurent job installed yesterday over in Beverly. The feature without a doubt is the built up floating breakfast bar with waterfall leg which works as a great contrast to the Dekton Natura island top. The floating breakfast bar took us 5 hours to install having to fit a metal frame in position then piece by piece clad it everywhere.
