Pineview Plant Nursery We offer a wide range of perennials from rare, new or unusual, to easy, interesting and reliable, primarily but not exclusively shade lovers

Our nursery offers a wide range of perennial plants ranging from rare, new or unusual, to easy, interesting and reliable. . These have been selected over many years and are good garden plants varying from named varieties to plants of species raised from seed. The wide range primarily reflects plants that are of interest to us, which we believe to be of outstanding garden merit. These include mainl

y herbaceous perennials and ornamental grasses, which complement them. Included in the above range is a large selection of shade loving plants and ferns, including over 100 varieties of Epimedium and an ever growing collection of Sanguisorba, Phlox, Astrantia and Thalictrum. You will also find a smattering of South African plants reflecting the many guided tours to that country.

This Dactylorhiza x grandis blackthorn hybrid has been flowering for about 6 weeks and must be about 40cm tall and I’ve just spotted on the left a dark leaved Impatiens that I believe was passed to me by Helen Brown and I never remember its name! 🙄😀

International Poppy Day in my garden with Icelandic, Oriental and Welsh poppies all responding to the warm weather, mainly by being even more transient! But I am a sucker for a poppy! I think my favourite is the Meconopsis cambrica the yellow form ( hasn’t it been renamed lately?)

Age comes to us all (with luck!) and my first concession was using the kneeler (mainly to resume a vertical position) but after a short time the knees hurt a touch, but then I discovered Fliss of and her amazing kneeling pads! Made and produced locally, using British wool it’s been a game changer and much kinder on the knees! *whispers, I’ve even used it when painting skirting boards etc indoors

RIP Tom, my first Koi gifted to me by good friends along with Jerry a Ghost carp and they’ve been a constant presence in our pond for 7 or 8 years. Jerry seems unfazed by his colleagues departure but then he’s always been a bit of a ‘cold fish’ 😬

The warm spring could mean last-minute changes to the plants this year, as many are blooming too early 🌸

Hmm not sure what this little meeting is all about... I'd like to think it's a pre-pod opening chat about egg production, but I suspect it's a discussion on the best place to hide from the next rain shower...☔️🌦️

We are hoping to reopen the pods later in March, as soon as the orchard has dried up! I'll update when we are open, and you can still view the pods and book on our website https://orchardpods.co.uk/

Looking forward to welcoming guests back soon 😊
