We were appointed by the owners of Flourish Farm, in Derbyshire to help them re-purpose one of their farm buildings for sale.

Part of a wider group of farm buildings, being the last building of the group, looking out over the fields allowed it to be developed and sold as a separate entity to the rest of the farm

We used a mixture of the existing blockwork and timber cladding and inserted contemporary, glazed openings that accentuate the form of the original building.

This is a building which like so many, had it not been allowed to change the use to a house would have sat in the landscape largely redundant except for some very light agricultural storage use.

Class Q is the name given to the permitted development right to convert agricultural buildings into homes. At Nordbarn we understand the complexities of this Permitted Development Right, and as with this example we have lots of experience in this area.
