Silver birch 💚💚 Provides food and habitat for more than 300 species of insects, homes for woodpeckers, seeds for siskins, greenfinches and redpolls. Can survive in Lapland and as far south as Spain. Improves garden soil quality as it’s widely spread roots draw nutrients into the tree which are then recycled onto the soil surface when the leaves fall.

So lucky to spot a Tawny Mining bee in action this morning 💚💚💚
