D’ya know what? We absolutely love an Alpha !! In our humble opinion the best value for money boilers on the market, range-rateable, loads of adjustable settings in the installer menu to maximise energy efficiency and really great warranties. We said goodbye to a problematic Ravenheat today and went with the Alpha because of the similar pipe configuration and were so impressed with these new NX models we’ve ordered another for Monday!

Bosch! Today we said goodbye to a gravity hot water Glowworm installed in 1977 😳 and welcomed a modern 4000 Combi into this apartment. Let’s hope this one lasts 46 years too! The flue terminated on the fourth floor so to save the customer a small fortune in scaffold costs we utilised the super handy (Flue snug) made by .uk. Really made a potential stumbling block on the job a total doddle 👌🏼

Last weeks job saw us out in the Peak District rescuing a 3 year old system that had never really worked since day 1! The customer had been getting by using the immersion on the cylinder and fan heaters all this time! Initially attending on a callout we agreed with the customer that the system needed a total overhaul. We’d never come across a system so badly configured and cobbled together (including a pump floating in mid-air 😅) After mapping out the system we decided that a low-loss header with a follow-on distribution header was the best option for the job. The size of the room containing the system made it difficult to take 1 good picture so we’ve put several before, during and afters in so hopefully you get a good idea. Thanks to Jason at for assisting with the LLH. The zones make it clear to the customer which bit is which with their handy LEDs. System fired up and working like a charm! Another happy customer 🙌🏼

A nice Combi swap today in Sheffield to start the week whilst our colleague Jim is over at Worcester HQ training up on heat pumps. We therefore thought it was only right to put a 4000 in for this customer. Fitted with the comfort control pack & range-rated accordingly. Probably one of the nicest boilers to fit and certainly one of the best looking! The boss of the house is clearly happy with the final result!

Thermosteve absolutely loved working in this tight space for the last 3 days 😂! Our customers old icos had finally given up and had been running inefficiently for years so they tasked us with modernising their heating & hot water system whilst they’re away on holiday. They left the decision making to us so we naturally put in the best double act since Henderson’s relish & mash potatoes… The Xclusive & (slimline obviously) X Plan. This means the system is set up on priority hot water and the heating demand has been tweaked all the way down to 7kw with a flow temperature of 55 degrees. for simplicity and the customer has the option to turn it into a smart stat at a later date. Based on past usage we’re expecting this customer to save a small fortune on their gas bills going forward. Fingers crossed they bring us a stick of rock back from their jollies 😜🤞🏼
