🏡 Planning Permission Granted!

We’re delighted to share that planning permission has recently been granted for the conversion of an existing agricultural building into a new dwelling.

The project will see the existing building transformed to create a new home for our clients, giving the building a new purpose while creating a thoughtfully designed place to live.

Rone Design worked alongside WBW Surveyors in Skipton, who acted as Planning Consultants, to help take the project through the planning process.

With permission now secured, our clients are intending to take the project forward to construction — and we’re looking forward to seeing the plans move from the drawing board to reality.

A great result for everyone involved, and hopefully one we’ll be able to share more of as the project progresses. 👏

🧯 Fire Safety & Building Information

Fire safety is an increasingly important consideration for businesses, particularly when it comes to understanding how a building is laid out and how people can safely evacuate in an emergency.

At Rone Design, we’re seeing more businesses request comprehensive fire plans that clearly identify existing fire safety equipment and key information about the building.

Depending on the project, this can involve surveying an existing building and producing detailed plans showing relevant fire safety measures — helping provide a clear picture of the building and support the development of an appropriate fire strategy and evacuation procedures.

For existing workplaces, having accurate and up-to-date building information can be an important part of maintaining a clear approach to fire safety and compliance.

🏗️ Farnhill Project Update

It's great to see work progressing well on our new build home at Farnhill.

Construction of the gabion retaining wall is well underway, the foundations are now in, and the project is officially off and running.

Every successful build starts with solid groundwork, and it's always rewarding to see a project move from the drawing board onto site. We look forward to sharing more updates as this exciting development continues to take shape.

Behind the scenes at Rone Design 👷‍♀️📐

Not every part of a project makes it onto site photos, but it’s all crucial to delivering a successful build. From preparing detailed drawings and documentation, to coordinating with project teams, our work behind the scenes ensures every project runs smoothly, safely, and in line with compliance requirements.

It’s this careful planning and attention to detail that helps Rone Design deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Behind the scenes at our Bradford project 👷‍♂️🏗️

Not every project is visually striking, but some of the most important work happens behind the scenes.

We’re currently supporting a project at Cashmere Works, Bradford for Haworth Scouring Company Ltd, which will see the demolition of an existing industrial building and the construction of an anaerobic digestion facility. The development includes the installation of nine tanks, a gas holder and a new CHP unit designed to biologically process organic residues from the wool scouring process.

Once operational, the new biogas CHP will generate up to 550 kW/hr of green electricity ⚡, helping to reduce reliance on natural gas and lowering overall emissions from the site. The project also supports wider sustainability measures already in place, including the transition to an all-electric truck fleet 🚛🔋 and a significant reduction in waste transport from the facility.

For this scheme, Rone Design has acted as Project Managers, CDM Consultants and Architectural Consultants, supporting the delivery of a project focused on improving environmental performance and long-term sustainability 🌱.

When complete later this year, the new system will play an important role in helping Haworth Scouring continue its strategy of reducing emissions, transport movements and waste streams from the scouring process.

Completion expected May 2026.
