Andrew Melvin is the Senior Director and Designer for Shipton Design Ltd with over 20 years of experience within Architecture & Design. He has in-depth theoretical knowledge of design and construction combined with extensive implementation experience.
During his time in the profession he has been responsible for developing and monitoring a large number of contracts for residential and retail clients. Using a combination of his design skills and practical abilities he has successfully completed a wide range of projects in the United Kingdom, Europe and North America. He is experienced in the use of computers, and has learnt to manipulate a wide range of computer software packages, including AutoCAD 2009, MS Office and Photoshop. In addition he currently has returned to manual drafting for certain projects, allowing for a less clinical drawing effect. His breadth of experience covers a wide spectrum of design including retail and historic building restoration. His main specialty lies within residential design, with a large number of house designs carried through from initial brief through all stages and finishing with the client taking possession.
Recently Andrew has taken on the role of a visiting critic at Birmingham City University.
