Having unruly ivy and bramble problems? No bother..

A few hours of cutting back this quilt of vegetation revealed an extra 6 foot of carparking space that had been smothered by the encroaching brambles and ivy.

πŸͺΊπŸ£This wild banking and undisturbed plant matter creates a warm and cosy habitat for many types of wildlife, so it's best to tackle this sort of job mindfully. Ideally not disturbing anything that might be hibernating still, but certainly before the birds start to nest this coming Spring.

I'm currently taking bookings, so please do not hesitate to slide into my DMS with any enquiries you may have. πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎ

The last lot of Winters leaves tidied off the borders and bagged up for the homemade compost heap, to provide space for the showstopping snow drops to do their thing while the daffodils begin to flower; all right on time for Springs fresh growth to arrive on through 🌷

Hellebore's. In all the colours.

I'm not sure I could choose a favourite but thankfully one of the gardens I work in has them all to marvel at, so I needn't have to choose.
The garden that is.

I can't wait to see what crops up next as we gradually move into the Spring. That's after the forecast snow arrives next week of course. ❄️❄️

Welcome 🌷 with Spring around the corner, I've found myself entering this new year as a fully self employed do'er and helper of things, so I figured when better to promote my services than right now and see what comes of it!

I've been working alongside some legends who have mentored me over the last 2 years and I'm slowly beginning to build up the confidence to go it alone and begin to offer my abilities to anyone that is willing to trust me to do so πŸŒ„

It all began on my allotment, back at the beginning of 2021 when I decided what better way to spend my free time than to teach myself to grow a bunch of stuff that I hoped and intended on cooking for my family, a few of whom I was caring for at the time

Alongside my allotment learnings, I took on a part time job as a gardeners labourer and spent the other half of my week as the Allotment officer for the town I live in.
After a year of immersing myself in the growing community of Skipton, joining the likes of and upon discovering I can infact learn the seamingly impossible and remember and name a plant or two, it was then I decided it might not be such a terrible idea to persevere with what has been one of the hardest and most confronting jobs I've ever tried and really lean into where it can go ✨

But more on that later...

My intention here is to keep a journal style record of the work I've been up to so I can look back on this journey as it continues to unfold.

And if I happen to pick up any work off the back of it, well that's a happy bonus.

Lots of love. Summer x
