NEWS | Statement worktops are not going away. Our managing director Salvatore Caruso is quoted in this month's edition of Kbbreview in a feature on worktop and surface trends.

Classico Marble is the sole fabricator quoted in the article and he says he is seeing "...a significant shift towards materials with bold veining and movement for a year or so now across all materials, from natural stone, quartz to even the latest high-tech porcelains..."

BOOKMATCH | There are some projects and materials that really stand out in your mind. For this project, our customer had selected an incredible series of bookmatched Splendido Quartzite slabs that they wanted for their client's kitchen.

Often as the fabricator, secretly we prefer the stone before appliances and sink recesses are cut into the slab. But for this project, we think this high-tech Gaggenau gas cooktop with the controls fitted on the front apron looks fantastic.

ONYX | A backlit panel of Onyx adds a luxurious accent to this kitchen designed by Elementi Cucina.

Their project blends crisp white interiors, bold pops of colour and textured surfaces. The high performance, contemporary, marble-look quartz worksurfaces we created for the project are married with the opulence of an onyx strip. The onyx was precision-cut on our state-of-the-art machines, hand-finished by our stone masons and installed by our experienced fitters.

The high end design projects we are working on at the moment all include stone that has a lot of movement, bold veining and strong patterning. All these are either waiting to be processed or are offcuts that have been scanned and are available on our website for smaller vanity tops, splashbacks and tabletops.

We are lucky in that we are well supported by stone suppliers and distributors such as and more. Getting the details for stunning stone, ceramic and quartz slabs is just a phone call away. WORK IN PROGRESS | This stunning Fusion Wow Green quartzite has been working its way through the workshops. Quartzite is not an easy stone to cut and it has taken a lot of careful processing. Every element has been veinmatched precisely.

Our expert masons have been shaping, finishing and polishing the beautifully rounded double bullnose edge profiles and the carefully chamfered mitres.

The client has selected this dramatic natural stone from Stone World London to make a bold design statement, and we can't wait to see the final installation.

We pride ourselves in always doing each job right the first time whether it is an offcut that has been crafted into something small but special, or 1,300 kitchen worktops such as for the Horlick's Quarter for Berkeley Homes.

WORK IN PROGRESS | This rare slab of Connemara Green Marble is on it's way through our workshops at the moment. Connemara Green Marble is only found in the relatively small region of Connemara in Galway, Ireland making this slab rare and costly.

Our yardsman Nick was keen for us to share it as he safely manoeuvred the slab into the workshops on our gantry. We think he has a point; this slab is absolutely gorgeous and will look incredible when in situ.
