As we haven’t been out clean your windows in a while,
Jays breaks up for a week in a couple of weeks time I think we”ll have to try and get a round in.

So I’m thinking at present I’ve got a free Saturday on the 18th Feb
So I’ll be doing slots between 9am til 4pm (ish)

The answer is very much YES!

Unfortunately I’m crap with social media and just don’t very often post pics of our work

So i thought I’ll share this post with you all

So late last year I was asked by a lovely local couple to make them some airing cupboard shelves to replicate their 1 existing original one.

Now it’s not for me to say they was happy with their new shelves, but nearly 12 months later I got a message asking me to go and quote them to decorate their livingroom and lay them a new engineered wood floor.

Unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of how it was before I started but I did get a pic towards the end of day one.
So here’s the progress and finished pics

Breakdown of work,

Prep all existing woodwork ✅
Painted ceiling ✅
Whitewash coloured wall ✅
Lining paper fireplace all ✅
Repaint all walls ✅
Gloss all woodwork ✅
Remove old laminate flooring ✅
Lay new engineered wood flooring ✅
Finish with scotia bead and new door bar ✅

So I’ve just received photos from last weeks completed job, our clients have now had their new carpets fitted (they was going to have the original carpet re-laid as it wasn’t too old) but I’m sure you’ll agree this new dark grey/ black speck carpet sets off the look and looks absolutely stunning.

BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER

OMG what a job!!

Awesome family, lovely house but this hall was bloody hard graft!!

The brief…..
Grey walls, white wood and black doors.

The problem….
The walls had been plastered over the past few years but they cracked so the customer had tried to fill he cracks, the plasterer had left skim lines and blotches of plaster everywhere, the previous paint job left runs on the walls, the wood work has years of layers of paint build up, the bathroom was missing architrave (both sides) and there was no skirting downstairs and a piece of skirting was missing off the 1st floor landing.

The job….
We stripped and sanded back all the wood (and metal) doorframes, skirtings and stair runs.
Filled, Sanded back and 3in1 basecoated all the walls and ceilings.
Fitted new skirtings, louvre doors and chrome hand rail.
Painted ceilings with 2 coats of dulux trade brilliant white
Painted walls with 2 coats of dulux trade polished pebble
Painted wood work with 2 coats of dulux trade quick dry undercoat and 1 coat of dulux trade quick dry gloss
Undercoated doors and new radiator cover with crown trade quick dry dark grey and painted with crown trade quick dry black gloss.
Hung Mirrors and re-trimmed plastics around the front door.

I’m absolutely buzzing how well this job has turned out, not gonna lie we was a bit nervous with the black door part of the brief and with no natural light on the hall, stairs or landing we was worried about the black making it even darker and closing it in, as you can see it really isn’t the cases and it just looks stunning!!!

We now have more very happy customers (I think we’ll call them friends now) who we are genuinely going to miss

When I started this page it was with the hope of being a handyman doing small quick jobs like putting up shelves, curtain poles, mirrors, pictures ect

Little did I know or expect that most of the work would be painting and decorating.

So I’ve been I’m my element this week, my work has included fitting a plinth for a curtain pole, assembling 2 wardrobes, assembling and painting a radiator cover, fitting a bannister rail and this job for a lovely couple whom was our first Clients as Fix & Mix home Improvements.
Well They have just moved into a brand new house and asked me to go and put up their curtain poles, mirrors, bathroom cabinet, toilet roll holders, pictures, robe hooks on the doors and coat hook (whilst I was there I also put the legs on the new dining room table too)

Congratulations , Darren and the girls on your beautiful new home, I hope you have many years of happiness and make many special memories in there

And I’ll see you soon when we turn it all grey 😁

Usually we get tasked to do room make overs, but this job was more of a tidy up job.

The ceiling had grey paint on it so we gave it 2 coats of dulux trade brilliant white and the back wall needed to be papered.

Honestly the patten on this wood effect paper played absolute havoc with the iPhone camera, so the photos don’t do it any justice.

But safe to say we have another very happy customer
