What’s picking this weekend?

Plenty of Peas - they are in peak condition this weekend….don’t delay, they will soon go over if this hot spell continues.

Broad Beans - new crop just beginning, a bit on the small side

Strawberries - as mentioned in previous posts , not a lot available this weekend

Still got a decent selection available
All planted in a 14” wicker basket with added slow release fertiliser & water retaining gel - saves having to feed & also stays wet for that crucial bit longer!

The Picking Situation… this weekend!

Due to adverse weather conditions (wet/dry/extreme heat/cold & wet) over the last few months - the Strawberry season hasn’t been the best this year.

We’re sorry to sorry, there is next to nothing to pick at the moment.
Later varieties will be available from the end of June (although these won’t be bumper crops). Updates will appear here when they are ready.

Broad Beans have been well picked & the new crops will not be ready for another week or so!

Peas are plentiful…

Strawberries are very hard to find now.
You’re welcome to have a look - but it’s not easy.

Later varieties will be available in approx 10 days.

is not conducive to bumper Strawberry crops.
Surprisingly, the fields aren’t looking to bad!
Pickings should be pretty good Saturday, maybe Sunday too, depending on the busyness!!

Later variety (Malwina) looking good - should be ready towards end of June.

If you’re planning on coming in the next few days, best leave it to next weekend for a better picking experience!

Pick Your Own Strawberries has now begun.

Still early days, but there’s a nice picking to be had.
Crops not looking too bad, despite the wet winter - should be plenty through until early July (depending on how long this heatwave lasts!)

Broad Beans & Peas will be available from early June.
NOTE: we no longer grow Gooseberries, Raspberries or Black & Redcurrants.

Last entry to fields, 30 minutes before close - please be ready to leave by the designated closing time.
No booking required - just turn up, pick & pay!
