We would like to give Gary a very warm welcome to the Ferris Fencing & Gates team.

With temperatures around the mid 30's today we thought it was safer to let Gary work without his hard hat and hi vis (struggling to find safety boots to fit him.

Gary spent most of this morning clearing up worms and insects that we discovered while removing the old fence which is more than a lot of labourers do.

A recent job:

It has been a very hot 🥵 day today so I’m glad to be sat in a cool dark room now 😅😊

We were back to a previous customer property to replace the existing boundary fence.

We supplied and fitted a 6’ft high fence which consisted of 5’6’ft high closeboard panels sat on top of 6’inch high concrete gravelboards and fitted between concrete slotted posts.

What a great turn out for the Totton and Eling Carnival last Saturday!!

The weather was on our side ☀️ and lots of people made the effort to participate & come out to watch 😊🥳, it was great to take part for a third year of the carnival.

I’ve attached some from the Totton and Eling Carnival page.

We hope the Totton and Eling Carnival can keep going for many years to come but without local support & funding it may come to a very sad end 😔

Today is Totton & Eling Carnival which starts at 4pm.

We will be taking the carnival princesses today 😊 at the Totton and Eling Carnival.

Hopefully lots of people come out to raise money for local charities.

A recent job:

The customer was in the process of getting their swimming pool ready for the ☀️ weather.

The existing timber palisade fencing & gates had been up since the pool was built approximately 20 years ago and was in need of replacing.

So we supplied and fitted a 3’ft high round topped face fixed palisade fence plus a matching single gate.

Very jealous we never got to use the pool 🏊‍♂️ 😅😂

A couple of recent jobs:

We removed the existing 20 year old timber fencing which had had concrete repair posts fitted at some point in the fences life.

As the concrete repair posts were as good as new we were able to bolt the new timber posts to the existing spurs which reduced our time which also reduced the customers cost.

If you have a timber fence that’s starting to lean or rot at the bottom it’s not always necessary to replace the whole fence, adding concrete repair posts can give the existing fence a new lease of life & can be used later down the line if you want to replace the whole timber fence and reuse the concrete repair posts.

A recent job:

The existing timber closeboard fence & gate had seen better days.

We removed the existing rotten timber fencing and supplied and fitted a new 6’ft high closeboard fence consisting of concrete mortised posts and concrete gravelboards.

We also supplied and fitted a matching closeboard gate.

A recent job:

The customer’s want to remove the existing hedge and make the most of space available at the front of their property to increase the driveway space.

We supplied and erected a new post and rail fence which consisted of 6x3 timber posts with post savers fitted to give the posts a minimum 15 year lifespan, which we clad with stock netting and 4x2 timber rails.

We also supplied and erected a 10’ft wide field gate which we fitted between two 7x7 round topped posts which had post savers fitted to give a minimum of 15 years to the gate posts.

A recent job:

Removing the old post and rail timber fencing & replacing it with metal estate fencing with a matching gate across the customers paddock.

Low maintenance fencing.

The customer removed a section of dead trees and asked if we could supply and erect a new closeboard fence consisting of double concrete gravelboards and 5’ft high feather edge boards.
