It's cold and soggy but there is always something to do in your garden. This day was one of bramble removal, and they were tangled and growing everywhere. Much pruning was done too.

Brambles 0 vs Me 20 (and counting)

My journey with this garden has only just begun and I am already hooked. Each garden feels like my favourite when I am working with it! And this one really feels like a sanctuary.

Now is the perfect time to get your brambles, Ivy and any sprouted Holly bushes removed. There is much more to be done before we start working on the borders edges and then filling them!

Everything unwanted is coming up from the roots, some require more wrestling than others.

Your roses will need a good pruning too! But don't touch your Lilacs!

Prune away this wet February. And if not you, I'd be happy to do so.

I really enjoyed playing with Bobby Robin, he was showing off and grabbing the worms.

First visit to this beautiful garden. Almost didn't remember to take the before photos. Next visit you will get to see the lawn area, the view from looking outwards. I love this client’s approach. By Spring we will have achieved a lot.

The weeds coming under and up the fence from the neighbour’s garden were invading my clients garden along the fence. Herb robert (Geranium robertianum) and Red valerian (Centranthus ruber) was removed by the roots.

From a local garden I was at yesterday. I was so impressed the app picked up which type of Hyacinth these leaf shoots are. I love bulbs because they offer so much throughout the year. Can you tell which is the 'after' photo?

The low growing shrub is an evergreen spindle (Euonymus japonicus). What is making me chuckle is how much was pruned and yet it doesn’t look too dissimilar in the after photo. Less is more sometimes. We will have a think about shaping and location as this shrub needs a lot of air and full sun!
