🔥 Lithium Battery Fires Are Becoming a Serious Risk

Following the devastating fire yesterday that destroyed an entire building, early reports suggest the cause may have been linked to a v**e battery.
Lithium batteries (used in v**es, e-bikes, power tools, phones and laptops) are now one of the fastest growing fire risks in the UK.

When these batteries fail or are damaged, they can enter thermal runaway — a chain reaction that causes intense heat, flames, and sometimes explosions.

⚠️ These fires behave very differently from normal fires and can spread extremely quickly.
For businesses, this highlights the importance of having the correct fire extinguishers in the correct environments.

✅ Areas where lithium batteries are present should be properly risk assessed
✅ Staff should know which extinguisher is suitable to use

We’ve just started our next installation at Southport Temperance Institute — a fantastic local building that plays an important role within the community.

This project includes the installation of 12 × Dahua Technology Smart Dual Illumination cameras, strategically positioned both internally and externally to provide:
• Full perimeter protection
• Secure monitoring of all main entrances
• Coverage of key internal areas
• Enhanced visibility day and night
These smart cameras offer intelligent detection along with dual illumination technology — giving crisp colour images when required, while acting as a strong visible deterrent externally.
