Well, at the behest of Insulate Britain, I decided to add 100mm insulation below the floor in the lounge at the big house. It was a freezing room, very drafty, with 5 air bricks feeding the sub floor, two exterior walls and the original timber floor, haemorrhaging the heat that was produced by the radiator and/or the open fire.
The result? A 4 degree temperature rise! (temp differential between inside and outside air) I'm inordinately excited by this result!
Right, I'm off to glue myself to the M25 cos it turns out they were right all along.
