The difference between a room that feels "decorated" and a room that feels "curated" comes down to how you mix scale, texture, and tone.
In the studio today, we are finalizing a tactile scheme that relies on subtle contrasts. We’ve paired a matte, crushed wisteria fabric with a heavy, lustrous geometric brocade in soft pistachio. By overlaying a delicate, organically embroidered trim, we instantly ground the space, ensuring the color feels mature and grounded.
Many homeowners love color but default to neutrals because pattern mixing feels like a high-risk move.
You don't have to guess your way through a luxury renovation. If you are stuck in a cycle of ordering endless fabric samples and feeling unable to make a final decision, let us take the weight off your shoulders.
Use our RUSH HOUR consultancy service to access senior design guidance in flexible blocks. We will audit your samples, refine the visual hierarchy, and hand you a balanced, cohesive material roadmap.

Some decisions are made with drawings, measurements, and samples.
Others happen in an instant.
Walking through the marble yard, surrounded by hundreds of slabs, there was one combination we kept coming back to. The Stories of India mural by De Gournay and a remarkable piece of natural stone.
Not because they matched.
Because together they told a more interesting story.
The mural brought movement. The marble brought stillness.
One captured the imagination. The other grounded it.
These are the moments clients rarely see, but they often become the foundation of a project. Long before the furniture arrives or the walls are painted, there is a point where a space begins to reveal its character.
That is what we are searching for when we source materials.
Not the most expensive option.
Not the most popular one.
The one that makes the entire scheme click into place.
Thinking about a renovation but unsure where to start?
Our RUSH HOUR consultancy is designed to help you make confident decisions before costly mistakes are made.

Earlier in the project, our client spoke about the decision to focus on specific areas of the home rather than undertake a full refurbishment.
Today, we are revisiting that conversation with a look at some of the completed spaces.
The most successful projects are not always defined by scale. Often, they are shaped by a clear understanding of where thoughtful design will have the greatest impact.
These bathrooms were carefully considered to enhance both the function and experience of everyday living. Timeless in their aesthetic and tailored to the needs of the client, they demonstrate how focused interventions can transform the way a home feels.
Looking back at the journey from concept to completion, it is rewarding to see those early design decisions released in the finished spaces.

Most people see a car.
My clients see a mobile design studio.
Before every site visit, the boot is packed with carefully selected fabric books, wallpaper collections, paint samples, flooring options and finishes, all chosen specifically for that project.
Rather than expecting clients to spend endless weekends travelling between showrooms, I bring the latest interior products directly to them. It allows us to compare colours in the actual space, assess materials in natural light and make decisions with confidence.
One minute we're reviewing architectural plans, the next we're layering fabrics, wallpapers and finishes together to create a scheme that feels cohesive and considered.
The reality of interior design is that some of the most important decisions happen on site, surrounded by samples, drawings and plenty of coffee.
So whilst it may look like an ordinary car from the outside, the “RushMobile” is often carrying hundreds of design possibilities and a few future dream homes.
What you don't see behind every finished project is the travelling showroom that helps bring it all together.

A Different Perspective of Chelsea Harbour
As interior designers, we spend countless hours inside the famous domes of Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, moving between showrooms, sourcing finishes and discovering the latest collections.
Yet most of us rarely stop to look at the building itself.
The three distinctive glass domes have become one of the most recognisable landmarks in the design industry. Housing over 130 showrooms and thousands of luxury brands, they connect the North, Centre and South Dome, creating what is widely regarded as Europe's premier destination for interior design.
For designers, these domes are where schemes come to life. They are where fabrics are selected, wallpapers are compared, lighting is specified and countless client decisions are made.
Seeing them from the outside is a reminder that behind every finished home is an extraordinary hub of creativity, craftsmanship and inspiration that many clients never get to experience.
Whilst visitors often remember the beautiful showrooms, designers know that the domes themselves have become a symbol of the design journey; a place where ideas are explored, challenged and refined before making their way into our clients' homes.
Most people see a building. Designers see possibility.

Chelsea Flower Show
As an interior designer, inspiration comes from many different places, and often beyond interiors themselves.
A day at the Chelsea Flower Show was a welcome reminder of how colour, texture, attention to detail and composition work together in such a natural way. It was a thoughtful and inspiring experience, and one that has already influenced ideas for both recent and upcoming projects at Rush Interiors.
Design is always evolving, and it is moments like these that help shape a more considered approach to the spaces we create.

Designing within a budget is always a balancing act, but it is also where the magic happens. For this bedroom, we started by examining what the client already loved. The chandelier, for instance, had been there for years, so we allowed it to shine once more as the centrepiece of the room. An original Chinese wedding cabinet carried deep sentimental value, and by upcycling it, we honoured its history while giving it a refreshed presence. The bed’s headboard was reupholstered, bringing a softness back into the space, while the bedside tables were carefully sourced through thrifting, adding character as well as function. Finally, we layered in accessories from high-street retailers, proving that the right details need not be extravagant to feel luxurious.

In bathrooms that experience frequent use, the smallest details can make the greatest difference. Here, we introduced an electric sensor flush plate and a refined sensor tap, combining practicality with elegance.
These elements not only ensure a heightened level of hygiene but also elevate the space with a subtle layer of modern technology. It serves as a reminder that innovation, when applied thoughtfully, can coexist harmoniously with timeless interior design.
