There are moments with my dog that seem so small from the outside, but they stay with me all day. After the long walks, the messy floors, the endless routines, there’s that quiet instant when they choose to be close without needing anything at all. No toys, no treats, no excitement, just trust so complete that it settles right beside me. It reminds me that all the little things I do every day matter more than I realize. Being their person is a responsibility I never take lightly, but it’s also one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever known. Somehow, through all of life’s noise, we keep finding comfort in each other’s presence. ❤️

After they’re gone, the house doesn’t really feel empty in a sudden dramatic way, it just gets quieter in places I didn’t know were filled before, like the corner they used to nap in or the sound of little paws that used to follow me without thinking, and I find myself still reaching for habits that don’t have a response anymore, talking softly in moments that don’t require explanation, and it surprises me how love doesn’t actually stop when they’re no longer here, it just changes shape and stays in the routine of remembering them in everything I still do, and I don’t think that’s holding on so much as it is learning to carry something beautiful without letting it disappear 🤍
