When should you consider a shower seat?
๐Ÿ‘‰ If you are starting to feel a little unsafe and you feel like you could use support to steady yourself.
๐Ÿ‘‰ If you have weakness or pain in your legs or back, a shower seat will enable you to sit and wash without putting a strain on your back or legs.
๐Ÿ‘‰ If you have issues with balance or dizziness, then a shower seat can offer additional support and safety while you shower.

Have you ever thought about what causes the most water usage in a household?

On average it takes 115 litre of water to fill up a bath. When taking a shower, you use on average 50 litres of water, and the washing machine uses about 55 litres. The dishwasher uses on average 15 litres of water. Traditional toilets use about 10 litres of water per flush, however more modern toilets use about 6 litres.

How can you reduce your water usage?
There are hundreds of ways to reduce your water usage, we have listed a couple of important ones below:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Install a water saving shower head
๐Ÿ‘‰ Buy a water efficient washing machine and dishwasher
๐Ÿ‘‰ Use a dual flush toilet system, which reduces the amount of water usage to far under 6 litres per flush.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Replace your bath with a shower
๐Ÿ‘‰ Fully fill up the washing machine before turning it on

What is an automatic shower toilet?
This type of toilet is sometimes also called a โ€˜wash and dry toiletโ€™ and can assist you greatly if you have limited mobility. It combines a toilet, bidet and warm air-drying all in one unit, which means that no manual intervention is required. Some models will have automatic flushing capabilities and others may come with a remote control unit or with hand, elbow or foot-operated switches. This is just one of many options when it comes to assistive toileting. To find out more, get in touch with our friendly team at https://www.aquaneed.co.uk/contact-us/

IKEA and Skanska have been collaborating with the Queen of Sweden on an offshoot of their modular BoKlok housing that will meet the needs of the elderly and people with dementia.

Named SilviaBo, the housing project is being developed in Sweden by IKEA, Skanska and Silviahemmet, a dementia-care foundation established by Queen Silvia of Sweden.

This initiative partners with Queen Silviaโ€™s foundation that trains nurses and doctors in dementia care, and hopes to offer homes that are created with the needs of the elderly in mind, versus homes that have to be adapted as an afterthought.

IKEA and Skanska are collaborating with the Queen of Sweden on an offshoot of their modular BoKlok housing that will meet the needs of the elderly and people with dementia.
