We have just heard that Runnymede Art Society has been shortlisted once again for a Runnymede Council Civic Award for Arts Group of the Year. This is the third time we have been shortlisted, having achieved Highly Commended Awards in 2024 and 2025. We are hoping that it might be third time lucky at this year's Awards Ceremony on 10th March, fingers crossed!
Well done everybody!

Five members represented Runnymede Art Society at a very unusual event at Egham Museum in the Literary Institute. We have been working alongside the museum to produce paintings to decorate the hall for the Georgian Ball. Heritage Funding had been obtained to put on an event celebrating Egham in Georgian times, with music for a minuet found in the museum's archive, brought to life in the 21st centuary by musicians and dancers, with artwork from local groups and volunteers, games, riddles and poetry. A great fun evening. Great artwork from Oksana, Ron, Robyn, MariCarmen and Kay.

Today was our last meeting of 2025, our Christmas Party! Great selection of food, fabulous raffle prizes, Christmas Card Competition and the Christmas Quiz. Linda Blackwell was presented with the President's Cup for her Windsor painting, and Yvonne Tillier received the Autumn Shield for her "The Mews" painting which won the public vote at our Autumn Exhibition. The end of another good year at Runnymede Art Society.

Merry Christmas everybody! We look forward to seeing you all back next year on 7th January.

Santa will soon be on his way, but don't forget it's the RAS Christmas Party next Wednesday, 17th December. Normal time 1.30 to 4.00pm at St Paul's Church Hall. There will be no painting that day, so just bring yourself in your Christmas finery, and some nibbles.

Don't forget we also have a Christmas Card Competition, bring your original Christmas designs and vote for your favourite!

Merry Christmas from us all at RAS.

The results of the public vote at the Exhibition are now in. Once again it was a tightly contested finish. The artist with the most votes was Yvonne Tillier with her beautiful painting "The Mews". A very close second was Linda Blackwell with her lovely "Bright Eyes" - you could see how popular it was by the attention it attracted, particularly from children! A worthy third place went to Robyn Lister with her Morrocan Door. A full list of the results will be available at our meeting next Wednesday.

Yvonne Tillier will receive the Runnymede Art Society Autumn Shield, which she will receive at the Christmas Party on 17th December.

Well done to everybody who entered
