Thank you to everyone who came to "This is my Theatre" production of Jane Eyre. It is was brilliant performance and we loved it and we hope everyone else did too.
We are sorry it was a bit cold but its hard to heat an old building like this. Next time we will provide blankets.

A beautiful moonlit evening in the Walled Garden on New Years Day. Happy New Year to all my Christmas tree and vegetable customers of 2025 and huge thanks for your support and custom. May 2026 be a happy one for all. No Christmas tree entries for the Christmas tree competition this year but I can share with you my smallest tree and my largest and one enormous cabbage.

🎄🎄This is our Christmas tree retirement home. 🎄🎄

All these trees have been rented to families but gradually start falling apart and getting straggly, a bit like us !

They have a lovely view in the distance of Roydon church. ⛪️

I don’t know what the Collective term for a group of wheelbarrows is but here is my selection from The Beavers visit on Friday.
They were so helpful picking 43 kilos of apples in a very short time and also had fun going into the ice house . Many hand’s make light work .
The last 2 photos are all that was left from their visit !

Question : how many Beavers can you fit into a 17th century ice house ?

If you had a child that worked with me last week and you are wondering why they are pretending to be a bird it might be because we had a lot of fun building a giant birds nest in the garden and this then involved a lot of discussion and role play.

“I’m going to be the Daddy bird “I’m going to be the baby bird” it was great to watch.

Then cutting a path through the cow parsley, it must feel a bit like cutting the rain forests down if you are 4 years old and not very tall.
“I’m being an explorer in the forest “

Can you help ?

Do you know anyone who might want to rent one of our small farm buildings ?

We will shortly have a unit to let at our Barns, Stansteadbury Farm, near Stanstead Abbott’s. It is in a quiet location.

The unit 380 sqft and there is no heating or furniture provided.

It is not suitable for car or vehicle storage, or anyone who has noisy machinery as it is next door to a residential unit. It would ideally suit an artisan. It is available for rental at £350 per month from the 1st June 2025

We also have space for external storage for a vehicle or caravan.

It’s astonishing what gets dumped on the roads. We picked up this abandoned shopping trolley (How would you fit this into the car ?)The children had great fun in it and now it will go on the metal heap to be recycled!
