2 x Beech reductions to kick the week off in

Arguably the best tree to be climbing around in on a dry day 😍

Local Planning Authority granted us 3m reductions on both trees.

The tree on the left didn’t need it. 1.5 - 2m all around was more than enough.

However the tree on the right did need it and even a little bit more in areas due to the decline in the upper portion of the canopy.

We will be closely monitoring this tree due to it most likely suffering with root decay and/or root compaction.

Fingers crossed we can preserve this for many years to come 🤞🏼

When you have the eye for it 👀

We’ve been training this Privet hedge for a couple of seasons now and already have noticed significant improvements!

It was suffering in the windy winter months with stems bowing outwards due to excessive weight and it’s spindly height.

We have managed to tame the height to alleviate these problems and it seems to be holding up well!

It is still sparse and thin in sections however it is slowly thickening up in the right areas 😮‍💨👌🏼

Satisfying noises that come with tree work… Hinge wood!

For those who do not know; hinge wood, or holding wood is the amount of uncut wood left by a tree surgeon during their felling cut.

When done correctly this ensures control and direction. Professionals know the desired amount of hinge wood needed for the tree. Size, species and timber characteristics play a huge role when performing a felling cut.

In this video a 3:1 pulley system was setup on a neighbouring tree to also further guide direction and control.

A recently completed natural cut-back job for a new customer.

Upon our initial meeting, our clients wanted to enhance the view down their stunning garden but didn't want to just hack the tree branches back in a straight line like how most cut-back jobs are carried out.

We thrived upon their suggestions and knew we would get on swimmingly.

Further conversation highlighted that a 2m - 2.5m lateral reduction on 3 x Ash trees and 2 x Oak trees would provide just the right amount of pruning to open up this gardens view as well as keeping flowing branches draping into the garden to really hone in a natural aesthetic.

Proper bit of pruning and tree care 👌🏼😍
