Sometimes we rush decisions and forge ahead, just wanting to get to the finish line. But gardens really ask us to pause, and if you are looking for a way to slow down, even for just a few moments each day or week, I can't recommend gardening enough.

SWEET PEAS

Pinching out your sweetpeas is a great way to get a stronger bushier plant with more flowers. It seems drastic but it's absolutely worth it.

My seedlings are a little gangly this year so I'll likely grab some extras at the garden centre to bulk these out.

join us in spreading joy with bright sunny sunflowers throughout Stockport this summer. Pick up your free seeds from Hazel Grove and Bramhall Library.
As part of my work I like to help as many people get growing and enjoy the benefits of gardening and being outdoors.

Pick up your free seeds and tag us in your photos as we fill our spaces with sunflowers.

Did you know I now offer garden coaching? If you've always enjoyed gardening but could do with a bit of guidance on what to do at a particular time of year, stuck with a certain plant or want to work together on a new garden area, a garden coaching session is a great way to get an extra pair of hands and get something done in the garden you've had on the list for a while.

Birdy Nest Shop

An easy way to help our beloved garden birds this time of year. Make a nesting material station. Filled with lovely dry nest building materials.

Here I've used an old bird feeder, but a hanging basket also works well or get creative and weave one from willow.

Filled with moss, hair, sheep's wool, twigs and straw. Anything that will make a strong and cosy home for our nesting birds. A great simple activity at home for bored kids this Easter too.
