What do you call these flowers? Scabious or pincushion flowers?

I bought this a little while ago and I just adore it.

I made the mistake of googling “scabious” and now I want them all! Please talk me down! Are there any downsides of this beautiful plant?

From what I’ve read…

🌱 They are a perennial, so it comes back every year
🌱 They are winter hardy
🌱 Slugs don’t touch them
🌱 They love boggy clay soil (I’ve got a shed tonne of this! 😆)

Happy First Day of Spring 🌱🌼🌺

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

What beautiful weather we are having in the UK, it has really lifted my spirits. Yesterday we went to the local park, the kids rode their bike/scooter, played on the play park and we had ice cream. That’s what Saturdays were made for. What have you been upto?

What is your favourite thing about Spring?

For me it’s the lighter nights, so many colourful flowers everywhere I look, starting seeds…I’m grateful and hopeful for things to come.

✨Feeding the soil✨

I spent a few hours raking leaves in the garden and weeding. Weeding in February! The old me would not believe her eyes 😆

I was originally planning on collecting the leaves for mulch but then I found out that 2 of my trees have a disease so I need to remove the leaves and bin them.

I’ve emptied some of the summer flowers pots onto the border. I’m planning on emptying the bags of compost that have been sat out in the rain on the borders too to feed the soil. But I’ll need some extra stuff.

I realised my mistake for the last 2 years was not feeding the soil. I fed the plants, but not the soil. So I was wondering how you lot feed your soil?

Recycle your test strips ♻️

Clean or antibac your negative tests then put them to good use instead of increasing plastic waste.
