This sycamore tree was carrying a lot of weight on the front side, while several limbs at the rear had started to grow down towards and actually into the ground. Left unmanaged, this can increase the risk of disease and negatively affect the tree's long-term health.

We carried out a crown lift to improve the tree's balance and structure, while allowing more light to reach the ground below and creating better clearance underneath the canopy.

Over the coming weeks, I'll also be clearing the brambles and tidying the surrounding area, and I'll post an update once that's completed.

A small, heavily leaning silver birch limb was removed due to encroachment over telephone lines and into a boundary fence.

A full pre-work inspection was carried out to ensure no nesting birds were present before any works commenced.

Due to the significant lean towards the telephone lines and a restricted 6-foot drop zone, a controlled dismantling technique was used, incorporating a progressive back cut with wedge assistance to safely guide the section into the available landing area.

All material was cleared and waste was left neatly on site.
