'Media wall' to customers design giving plenty of shelving and a lower level storage cupboard, with concealed led tape lights fitted to brighten the space.. Mdf construction, painted grey, with solid maple facings finished with clear varnish.

New year....New start 😃
The name of my company has now changed from NWW Home Solutions to NWW Carpentry and Joinery.
Coming to the end of a llloooooooonnnnggg commercial contract and I came to the realisation that I had spread myself to thin in trying to cover everything within the 'home improvement/domestic' setting.
I will still offer quality work and prices, but feel that concentrating on a smaller market will allow me to work with fewer suppliers and secure better savings on materials, and by passing these savings on to my customers I can offer better value for money in these difficult financial times.
I'm currently taking bookings for any of those home projects you are thinking of having done and having 36 years experience as a Carpenter I can offer sound advice, clear quotes and very competitive prices, as well as a quality finish. Everything from hanging doors, fitted cupboards/wardrobes, general woodwork, media walls, kitchens etc

Nice little job day today........replaced a set of painted glazed doors with some modern oak ones, complete with new hinges, flush bolts handles and latch.
Customer is really happy and has booked me in to hang new oak doors throughout the downstairs 😃

Customer wanted a large bedroom splitting into 2, but with seperate doors.
I knocked through the redundant airing cupboard to create extra space, erected stud walls to seperate the spaces and create a new entrance. All studding filled with sound proof insulation then plasterboarded and skimmed. Finally fitted new door lining with panel above, door, skirting and architraves.

Well.......to say its been a challenging 8 months is a massive understatement !!
I've had many people ask if I am still running the business and if I could look at and quote for jobs they wanted doing.....unfortunately I haven't been in a position to be able to do this. Without going into all the details I can finally tell people what's been happening.........about 10 months ago I made the decision to work exclusively for a group of developers and kitchen designers. Amongst the mountain of paperwork I signed was an exclusivity clause which meant I couldn't take any pictures of my work or post any details or even discuss ongoing projects, and also work exclusively for the group !!
I signed the paperwork after being mislead about what it actually meant (in hindsight I should have had legal representation) and once I realised what it meant, it was too late !! This has lead to sleepless nights and plenty of stress, and also keeping quiet about what has been going on.
A few days ago, after legal proceedings, I find myself free of them and now and going it alone again. Unfortunately my loyal customer base has gone elsewhere after getting no joy with myself (can't blame them tbh) and I find myself looking for work.
As most of you will know I have been a Carpenter for many years (33 this year) and cover all aspects of carpentry and joinery, also many other trades I've picked up along the way. A busy week......firstly, finishing off a media wall by installing the new TV after the paint had gone on, just awaiting a granite shelf for the niche.
Secondly, finished off trimming the kitchen and fitting the pull out larders....granite to be installed next week by others, and missing back panel for island to go on. Belfast under counter sink fitted, and tap fitted temporarily 😃
The customer also decided on a sleek extractor that she wanted enclosing within a bulkhead.......done 😄

Busy few days cutting and pitching a few small roofs this week. Not something I do a lot of so some head scratching went...

Busy few days cutting and pitching a few small roofs this week. Not something I do a lot of so some head scratching went on.......both turned out well though.
1st customer wanted the canopy roof over their bay window enlarging, and extending into the new roof of their extension....including diminished rafters onto a lay board.
2nd customer wanted a roof cutting and pitching on their new shed/outside room......including a hipped end.
2 satisfied customers and a 5 day weekend ahead of me 😃
