Not a glamorous post this one!

Now that I've mentally recovered from the academic year, had a lovely week in Cornwall and vegetated for a few days, it is now time to start the big garden project. A complete revamp of the top part of the garden.. it's a biggie, and I'll be posting photos as we progress through it.

First up, is the lean-to.

The lean-to was one of the features that attracted us to this property when it came on the market nearly 8 years ago. It wasn't in great nick but I knew it would give my itchy green fingers a chance to get involved with a garden of my own.

If you've ever bought plants from this page, this is where it happened. Whether it be sowing the seeds, propagation of cuttings, splitting of Dahlia tubers, the potting on... The re-potting on... And an extra repotting just good measure.

It was never going to win style awards or make an appearance in a show garden but it has always been a lovely safe haven to go and potter to zen out for a while.

I unfortunately forgot to take a before picture to show how full it was, with pots, tools and things that "might come in"... It was chokka! Where has it all gone?? Well.. don't expect any photos of the bottom corners of the garden anytime soon!

It probably still has a few more years left in its tank if I really wanted to push it, but, unfortunately, it's time to say heartfelt "bon voyage" and bring it down ready to make way for the rest of the work.

Anyway, enough blabbing I had best crack on!

Very much looking forward to showing you all the progress as we go.

Have a lovely day,

Joey

Everyone loves a freebie!

I've got a bunch of dried Allium seed heads if any clever clogs would like to get crafty with them.

Let me know 😊

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend,

Ay up folks!
Ok, so it's not a gardening post, but it's still a very important one...

Jam or cream first?

A drizzly day in Boscastle, but that won't stop us from having an explore.

Have a lovely day,

Joey

Morning folks,

Are anyone else's Lilies smelling absolutely amazing!?

I tend to grow mine in pots so that I can position them where I sit or pass by so that I can appreciate their perfumed scent 😍

Hump day for some... Day 3 of the Summer Hols for me!! A big exciting project on the horizon.

Have a lovely day,

Ay up folks,

Well the weather these past few days hasn't exactly been the best, but this little fella seems to be enjoying himself at least!

A few years back there was a Belfast sink going spare on Facebook market place. Sealed it, dug it in, couple of marginal plants, some stones to help with access and then topped up with water.

Within a couple of weeks we had already seen hedgehogs and foxes using it at night, and birds and frogs during the day!

It's not the most attractive feature, but possibly the most important one!

Have a lovely day

Yeeeeesh!! Scorchers over the past couple of days and another few scorchers on the horizon!

Make sure you are hydrating yourselves as well as your gardens. Even some draught tolerant plants look a little worse for wear at the moment.

More posts coming soon, but for now I'm just going to go and dunk my head in the water butt to stay cool.

Big love,
Joey

Ay up folks,

I'm not normally one to show off........ HOWEVER, just have a look at the size of my Echinops!

Not only is it measuring in at just a smidge under 9ft, it's also now starting to come into flower and the bees LOVE it.

Hope you've had a good start to the week,

Joey

Happy weekend everyone!

I found this little fella treating themselves to a Friday night takeaway 😂

We have had Rusty Tussock Moth caterpillars enjoying our wisteria leaves for the past few years now.

Unfortunately with the landscaping we have planned we might having to get rid of the wisteria... We waited 6 years for it to flower as well!!

Have a lovely weekend folks,

Joey

Good morning folks,

You may have noticed that we've scaled back on the selling front this year... Now with one exception, Dahlias!

We had a fantastic year over-wintering them all, and also managed to split up some of the largest ones.

However, that means that even though it's one of our favourite plants we've now got wayyy too many, even for us!

They are mainly Dahlia 'Edinburgh' plants that are for sale. We also have a few Dahlia 'Surprise' available... That's not a variety, that's because I forgot to label some of them again!

Large pots are £4
Small pots are £2.50

Whatever you get up to, have a lovely day,

Joey

Blimey! Well, it really has been a while hasn’t it!

Apologies for going AWOL for quite some time. I am still here; it has been a pretty darn hectic time and a few projects like running this page had to be put on the back burner for a little while.

However! I am looking forward to (hopefully) posting more regularly again. Especially with the gardening season fully underway and the borders are alive with colour, fragrance, and wildlife.

Have a lovely afternoon and speak soon!

Frosty nights are on the way so it's time to get the polytunnel up I'm afraid!

If you've got the space and have a fair few pots to protect it is well worth investing in one in my opinion 😊

Hope you are all well,

Joey

November is here and the growing season is slowly coming to a halt for most of us.

However, there is still plenty of colour in the garden thanks to some late flowering beauts like the bright pink Chrysanthemums, the sparkly white New England Asters as well as one final push from a few of the annuals and the Dahlias too.

This weekend will definitely be used for getting tidy and ready for winter though ❄️

Big Love,
Joey
