It was Matt's Birthday on Wednesday (Happy Birthday Matt🎉🥳) so we thought we'd let him write a blog post about anything he wanted as long as it was something to do with:
- Gas prices
- New technology for heating homes
- Money/Energy savings measures homeowners could put in place.

Lesson's learned all around. You learn how many farts it takes to power a home, and we've learned to keep Matt on a shorter leash.

I'm sure we've all wondered if our trumps could heat our radiators, and if so, how many would it take. It's not just me right?

When we call customers and ask what kind of boiler they have, a lot of them aren't sure. We thought's we'd explain the differences in boilers, and highlight what makes Combi Boilers better than the alternatives!

In short:
- There's a boiler on the wall, you don't have a tank in an airing cupboard, and there's no water tank in the loft: That's a Combi Boiler.
- There's a tank upstairs but nothing in the loft: That's a System Boiler.
- There's a tank upstairs and a water tank in the loft: That's a Regular Boiler!

But what makes Combi boiler's the typical best choice? Find out below ☺️

Chances are if you’re reading this then you’re either checking that you already have a Combi Boiler, or you’re looking to upgrade your Regular Boiler. First,

Want to save up to 35% on your Energy Bills? Having cavity wall insulation installed keeps the inside of your home a nice temperature, whether it's summer or winter!

Your boiler will be working less in the summer as it doesn't have to compensate for the 35% of heat loss, saving you money as it does. With the Price Cap increasing in October again, this might be the most effective way to lower your bills!

Read more about what it is and what it does here:

Cavity wall insulation's purpose is to improve your home’s energy efficiency. Let's chat about cavity wall insulation, including the associated costs and

Cornwall Insights, who've very accurately predicted price cap increases several times on the trot now, have today released their new figures for October.

We're likely to see a further 46% Increase, taking the average home up to £2800 for Energy Bills. It's one step forwards, two steps back.

The reason we keep pushing for you all to get insulated, either as a paid service or for free under the ECO grant, is because the difference between an uninsulated or poorly insulated home, and a fully insulated home is 60% of your gas bills. You lose heat that your boiler/radiators make out of uninsulated spaces.

That's the difference between paying £2800 or paying £1120. That's being able to spend £95 a month more on food, it's a free tank of fuel per month, it's a holiday booked over the year. It doesn't even cost half that for the insulation if you were to pay for it yourself even though you may qualify for it all for free with ECO.

There's a new grant for Heat Pumps, you can get £5000 off the cost of buying and installing one and it's called the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). But what are they? Find out below 😁

In April of 2022 UK residents experienced a 45% increase in their energy bills, from £1,277 to £1,971 – a £693 increase for households on standard tariffs. For Pre-payment customers the price increase was £708, from £1,309 to £2,017. But Why?

In April we saw the cost of Energy Bills skyrocket, and we will again in October. What caused the Energy Crisis and why is it getting worse?

Ofgem have released new changes to how they monitor and implement the Price Cap. It's been met with a lot of criticism from everyone except energy suppliers. Here's why:
