Hard to believe Hyve Architects is celebrating 20 years in business! Like many businesses, we started small and worked hard to grow, it has not always been easy…….Most business owners would agree it takes hard graft, grit, and a little bit of luck to keep a business going, and indeed we have been so lucky!! Immensely grateful for the many fabulous clients, professional colleagues and team who have been on this business journey with Hyve and contributed to its success. Happy International Women’s Day!

An appropriate day to say a HUGE congratulations to who has passed her final Part 3 exam on Thursday and is now officially an architect! This is a remarkable achievement, passing this exam less than 9 months since leaving university, it usually takes much longer, years, for most architects. Only possible because Rachel worked part time in practice all the way through her Masters which was tough at times for her, but so worth it now! A very well deserved pass. So proud of you Rachel, you’ve worked so hard, an amazing start to the next chapter of your career!

Good news for us! Two of our projects have been shortlisted in this year’s design awards.

Our first project is a home renovation and extension in Aberdeen. This home underwent a complete transformation from top to bottom, and the result makes the most of its location and stunning views over Aberdeen City.

The second is a conversion of an old Coach House, including a new extension to the rear, to create holiday accommodation in a wonderful rural location.

Good luck to all the other projects shortlisted. Winners announced on 14 March! 🤞🤞

Tick tick boom! 💥 The countdown is on for next week’s Christmas pop-up and that means two things; I am gonna be burning the midnight oil, and the candle at both ends for the next couple of days. 😆 No matter how early I start my prep it’s always the same old story and ends up a bit of a mad rush… but we always get there in the end! More good news today! We have been shortlisted for a second award in this year’s Build It Magazine Awards in the extension category 🎉🎉. Great working with main contractor Cameron & Ogilvie Joiners Ltd as well as who created the kitchen and built-in joinery. Winner will be announced in London on 8 November, wish us luck! 🍀
