A new dwelling thats recently been submitted into planning. Situated within the Cotswolds AONB, the new dwelling takes part of the large back garden and creates a beautiful low-energy home set within the hillside of Whiteshill. The house is designed to nestle into the steep sloping hillside and sits nicely amongst the surrounding retaining walls and mature hedgerow, creating a unique and secluded setting for family life. The main living spaces sit on the upper level to soak in the incredible views down the valley. The covered evening terrace is completed secluded and allows the new occupants to enjoy the views all year round, which, of course, incorporates a pizza oven and open fireplace. The bedroom quarters are located on the lower level with level access out to the laid lawn and wildflower meadows.
The landscape design sets the house within laid lawn and wildflower meadows and extensive new hedgerow planting. The design would lead to about a 15% net gain biodiversity habitat (as well as 150% net gain of hedgerow habitat)
The house will perform 70% better than current building regulations in terms of heat loss and carbon emissions, including an air source heat pump, photovoltaic panels, mechanical heat recovery ventilation system, super-insulation and highly airtight construction, leading to an energy use similar to that of a passivhaus standard. With the increase in demand for the electric cars, a new electric charging point will be included within the application and the roof would allow for installation of solar panels with maximum energy potential due to orientation of the building
