Stunning location at this job for Amhuinnsuidhe Castle 🏰

These 2 trees had really outgrown their space, so we were called in to safely dismantle them🌳

There wasn’t much room for error on this one with the buildings below, large gas tank and the sloped ground the majority of both trees were rigged and lowered.

Branches were chipped and removed from the castle, logs were left on site for cutting & splitting🪵

We were recently on a large job in Stornoway, which involved reducing a lot of mature sycamore trees with the biggest being about 60ft tall.

- Around the back of the building, there was 7 sycamores that got a crown reduction, about 25-30%

- In the main carpark, our client wanted quite a heavy reduction for the safety of vehicles below, these were reduced about 40%

All of the branches & logs were removed from site to be recycled & disposed of correctly 🪵

🌳SYCAMORE CROWN THINNING🌳

When this customer approached us, the main goal was to allow more light in to the flats / grounds and they also wanted to keep the natural shape of the tree.

We suggested slightly raising the crown by removing 2 of the lower limbs, and then carry out a crown thin.

The process of crown thinning is to remove dead, weak, crossing or damaged branches. This also improves airflow throughout the tree reducing the risk of limbs breaking off in high winds.

Last week we were in Sandwick, removing and reducing some trees.

- 2 cypress trees removed
- Spruce tree removed
- Spruce tree reduced

Branches were chipped into our tree work transit tipper and removed from site.
Logs were also removed🪵

All of the work was carried out by rope and harness, we climbed and safely dismantled the trees in small sections due to the confined space and objects below.

Cypress trees removed recently in Lochs, Isle of Lewis🌲

Multiple had uprooted with visible soil heave and large limbs had been breaking off which is why they were removed.

Logs were stacked neatly on site and branches were chipped and removed / recycled ♻️
