We've had another great half term supporting children's wellbeing through horticulture and gardening activities. A wonderful group of people are offering multiple other sessions in Stourbridge schools made possible by The Fine Collective CIC and Bluebase Foundation
As another half term is done, I'm just reflecting on what we have achieved.
We aim to support the health & wellbeing of children and their families both in schools and the community in a sustainable way.
We are having 250 children accessing our provision each week & we are supporting on average 40 adults each week.
We currently have 5 schools that we are working with and have an extensive provision.
π³ 4 Woodland friends programmes; Forest school programme for children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
πͺ 3 Green Fingers programmes where children learn how to grow fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants. And by doing so reap the benefits, learn new skills and boost their wellbeing .
β½οΈ 1 activity based programme, supporting children to build resilience & develop great team work
π§ββοΈ 1 High ropes and personal development programme
π₯ 1 Bushcraft programme with teenagers, who have built their own camp, learning to cook on the fire & new skills using tools.
π€ΌββοΈ 1:1 activity based mentoring for 12 children, boosting confidence , building relationships, resilience & strategies to manage their feelings & behaviours
π§ββοΈ Weekly yoga classes
πΊ Parent / child boogie bounce classes, keeping fit together, building connection & having fun
π Rugby based Alternative Provision for 6 pupils, giving pupils alternative ways to achieve
πCounselling support for children and young people at a time when they need it, with no long waiting lists.
π§βπ§βπ§ 2 parenting programmes
π§Ά 3 Roots/ Woodland Chill- parent support programmes , nature connection and crafting
πΆ Community choir that is gradually growing
π¦ Once a month forest school family sessions for children with SEND & also with Up and Downs
π€ 2 Forest School programmes for children having suffered bereavement in collaboration with PAFSS at The Mary Stevens Hospice
I am so proud of what we have achieved & hugely grateful to Bluebase Foundation for funding the provision and trusting me to lead and coordinate it.
We are seeing such positive impact with schools seeing positive changes in the pupils, children engaging in activities, higher attendance & feeling better about themselves. Parents are telling us they feel supported & listened to and are able to try new things and make friends.
None of this is possible without a brilliant team of providers who are making all the difference.

What an achievement! I am beyond proud and the hours of work are more than worth it!
If you work in a Stourbridge School please ask your SLT to drop me a message or email so they can find out how we can start working with them from September.
