A LITTLE INTRO ABOUT US… ❤️🔥
If you’re new around here… hello and welcome! 👋
I thought it was about time we properly introduced ourselves and told you a little bit about the people behind The Fire Den.
I’m Emily, the face behind the showroom, alongside my partner Tom.
Tom has been in the fire industry for 25 years. He started out as a “man in a van”, building TDC Fires, repairing existing fires, installing new ones, carrying out gas services, chimney sweeps and pretty much everything in between.
Before The Fire Den, I worked in a building society in Kingswinford. I already had my handsome boy Harrison, who is now 12, and then came our beautiful little girl Poppy, who is now 2.
As my maternity leave was coming to an end, Tom asked if I fancied going into business together and opening our own fireplace showroom.
I said yes… despite not having the faintest clue what I was doing! 😂
What’s the worst that could happen, eh?!
So, that’s exactly what we did.
Shortly after finding the perfect unit, life threw us a huge curveball. Poppy became poorly and we spent 9 weeks in hospital, before she was eventually diagnosed with a very rare lung condition. She now lives on oxygen, with the hope that as she grows, she may eventually grow out of it.
She is absolutely amazing — funny, incredibly clever (just like her mamma 😉) and the most beautiful little girl.
Then, somehow, we found ourselves preparing to open the doors to The Fire Den for the very first time at the end of September 2024.
Tom handed me a set of keys and basically said:
“Crack on… I’m off to work.” 😂
No armbands. No float. Just a young baby and of course our right arm man, Alan. straight in at the deep end!
And from there… the rest is history. ❤️
Nearly two years on, it has been the most spontaneous, scary, exciting, stressful, challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done.
And we certainly couldn’t do it without our amazing team.
We now have our incredible Mandy, who runs the showroom alongside me, and four brilliant fitters out there doing what they do best.
So, the biggest THANK YOU goes to our amazing team, our incredible customers, and of course Tom, for giving me the opportunity to step completely outside my comfort zone, grow, learn and become the best version of myself.
We are a team who genuinely care.
We go the extra mile for every customer, we’re honest and genuine, and we will always put your needs first.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, recommended us, trusted us and followed our journey so far.
We really wouldn’t be where we are today without you. ❤️
