Always nice to see a finished project. Clients really pleased their new home and the quality of the finish from Foxley Building Company Ltd. Great when the end result is also very close to the original design as well, which doesn't always happen for various reasons.

Another appeal won with the help of AddisonRees Planning Consultancy.

The original application for a small, contemporary rear extension had been refused by the local council as they felt 'the use of this type of contemporary design appears to be ill-suited to the character of the existing dwelling, and therefore represents a jarring of styles.'.

In contrast, the inspector concluded...

"I do not share the Council’s view. The extension would replace a conservatory, which is itself of a wholly different appearance to that of the host property, and despite its contemporary design would offend no-one, not least because it could not readily be seen. But even if were widely seen, the design proposed is wholly acceptable being of a subservient scale, and attractive in appearance, even though contrasting with that of the host property."

Took a lot longer than it ever should have but great to get the sensible decision in the end.

Latest design for a new dwelling to replace a collection of agricultural outbuildings on a rural site in Worcestershire. Designed to be sympathetic to the setting, the new house is planned as two low level individual buildings connected by a flat green roof link. The bedroom block will be built from a handmade brick with standing seam roof, the living side is proposed as either weathered vertical larch set out in a yorkshire boarding format, or alternatively finished in a mix width larch batten.

Another approval with the assistance of AddisonRees Planning Consultancy. This one took a lot longer than needed to get through the planning process but we achieved the right decision in the end. The subtle design will provide a home workshop & storage space built into the existing raised garden. The project will allow the existing historic retaining wall to be repaired and integrated into the new design, ensuring it's long term survival.
