The last of the honey crop for this year. With this, and what we have from earlier in the season there's plenty availed. We've decided, in these times of rapid price rises, to buck the trend and maintain our price at £5/lb. Please pop by if you'd like some.

Clare is also selling cooking apples from the orchard and some rather lovely home made spiced plum jelly there's also apple and plum jelly as well.

Clare's latest creation...... a barrel lid house name plate. This one is ready for a varnish finish. .

Let me know if you fancy one either a whole barrel lid (full circle is approx 52cm diameter) or a half barrel lid (approx 52 cm wide by 26cm tall).

This one is made on the inside of the lid with some charing left on the wood. If you prefer a clean look the outer surface can be used instead

Price will vary according to required stencil work. This one works out at about £70

At last the weather is improving, so the bees are getting into 'full swing', after a long wet winter. Sadly we are down a couple of hives because of this.

If anyone needs any honey we still have plenty of last year's crop available. Still just £5 a pound.

Time for some shameless advertising (actually I'm really proud to share this)....

My son Robert and his work partner Hayden run a really decent bespoke carpentry business in the Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambridgeshire area. Their work is excellent and the pricing is fantastic value for money. So please check them out.

Their work includes, kitchen fitting, bespoke cabinets and cupboards, flooring, timber framed porches, etc.

You can find them on Instagram or Facebook where you can see examples of their work.

We often have regular customers who buy our honey to help control their hay fever. But today was facinating - a neighbour called in for some more honey. She tells us that it has helped to clear her horses asthma!!!

We are thrilled if it has done anything to help ......

Time for a bee update......

At last we have some honey available. This is still just £5 per pound. If you fancy any please call in.

We're holding at this price despite local honey selling for as much as £10 a pound. If you can return your empty honey jars we'd really appreciate it, because these have really gone up in price.

It hasn't been a straightforward season. We lost 3 hives in the late spring cold snap but thankfully our bees have finally bounced back:

We attracted 2 swarms with bait hives and another decided to set up shop in the temporary stack of brood boxes and supers from the lost hives. One of these swarms is really aggressive (so please keep away from the hives if you are local). The other 2 are delightful.

It looks like 2 of these 3 hives may produce some honey before the end of the season (fingers crossed).

Our remaining 3 hives (after a slow start during the cold wet spring) suddenly got into full swing towards the end of the oil seed r**e flowering period.

Last weekend we took 7 supers off these 3 giving us 220 pounds of honey. Which is a better yield than the 2 previous seasons.

If the weather remains good along with the nectar flow then with any luck we should see a second crop in a few weeks time.
