Cromartie Timber Ltd was first set up in 1989, mainly cutting local hardwoods for musical instruments, furniture, boatbuilding and turners. These days though, using traditional (old fashioned) sawmilling methods we produce Larch cladding, Flooring, Beams, Decking and various one off pieces for all sorts of projects. Our customers include James MacQueen Building Contractors in conjunction with R Ho

use on Skye, Makar in Inverness, Lochdu Cottages Ltd based in Plockton, Carbon Dynamic in Invergordon and many other self build projects in the area. We're a small mill; just a team of three but if you're looking for 200m2 of cladding or a single piece of wood we will do our utmost for you.

Hi folks, it's been a while so we hope you are all well and enjoying the sun.
After 3 months of having a major breakdown and an absolute nightmare sourcing parts WE ARE BACK UP AND RUNNING 🍾🍾🍾🍾🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊.
So looking forward to hearing from you, we have a wee bit of catching up to do and a HUGE thank-you to all our customers patience and understanding over the last few months, rest assured we are doing our best to now get all orders completed for them.
Also we would like to thank the guys at Mill n Mix Ltd in Dingwall for coming out and fitting the new parts so we could get going.

Hi folks, hope you all have had a good week 👍.
There has been some stunning night skies with the Moon, Jupiter and Venus I believe.
Anyway it was nice to see all the timber for a big bridge project leaving the yard this week for a local contractor to get started on and look forward to helping him with his next project.

Hi folks, hope you are all well and haven't been blown away by all the high winds last night.
Had a busy couple of weeks cutting timber for a cladding job in Uist and bridge timbers for a local contractor which we are really pleased with as it was big lumps to be moving around.
Another big positive is it will soon be the summer again so time to start thinking about all those little jobs that maybe you have been putting off over the winter.
So give us a shout if you require any timber materials.

Hi folks,
Well another week over but a huge positive what a difference in the weather from last week.
Anyway, we have been busy cutting a lot of orders for Douglas Fir this week and also had a few more orders for Douglas Fir come in which is brilliant.
Back onto Larch next week for a customer which will be heading to the Western Isles once it has been completed.

As you can see it has been a wee bit challenging with the weather but we have plodded on through it and all going well if the weather starts to warm then a good thaw will happen.

Hi guys, couple of pictures sent to us this week.
The big blocks on the left are for Ross-shire Engineering who asked us to cut 400mm x 200mm metre long pieces of Douglas Fir with a half circle cut out so they can transport pipework materials. It was a wee challenge due to the size but we managed with the help from Ivan and Alex at Zucconni Carpentry.
The gate on the right was made by a customer who bought the timber off us, what a great job.
