There isn’t a place on earth we haven’t ’managed’. We, ‘allow’ certain areas to be wild. There’s a human conceit here that believes all things are ours for the taking. And we’re taking it all. David Bailey has an article below which hits hard and should be explained to your children.
We choose what lives in our garden. We eliminate the plants and creatures we don’t want. Look to our fields and we are fast becoming dependent on one variety of rye. You take a square metre of any cultivated field and you’ll find few species of anything other. This has been my observation.
