We installed Silestone for one of our projects a few years ago, a man-made, non-porous surface made primarily from natural quartz, combined with resins and adhesives. It’s known for being durable, stain-resistant and having a polished, lustrous finish, perfect for this central London hotel bar - Hampton by Hilton .

Natural stone worktops like limestone, quartzite and slate offer a sustainable alternative to heavily manufactured surfaces. Each has its own character, but all share a more environmentally friendly footprint.

👉 Limestone is formed in shallow waters and often contains shells or fossils. Its soft, rustic look works well for floors, kitchens and bathrooms.

👉 Quartzite starts as sandstone and transforms under heat and pressure into a strong, stain-resistant surface, great for renovation projects.

👉 Slate, made from clay and volcanic ash, is heat-resistant with a fine grain texture. It’s a good choice for hearths and fireplace surrounds.

Asian was fantastic in helping us choose our tops and Jim had a challenge in templating and fitting our tops in our old cottage where nothing is straight including a wonky window however Jim was able to fit and match the veins in the tops to the upstanding. We now have a beautiful new kitchen finished off with lovely worktops."
