A London brewery will grow its own crop of strawberries via an innovative on-site vertical farm to maximise how it uses its "premium" city location.  Camden Town Brewery has partnered with Rootlabs, which builds urban farms, to launch the UK's first brewery-based vertical farm at its Enfield site.....

We will be on the Savills stand at the Suffolk Show this year with a vertical aeroponic farming demonstration and talks about core market diversification for farmers. We will be showing them how to start a low input, high value output farm within unused or redundant parts of their farms. We will also be showing how entrepreneurs and communities can get into high quality, sustainable food production in rural and urban settings.

Suffolk Show-goers will be given an insight into how farm innovations could help reduce food miles and improve sustainability.

So, this happened in the House of Lords today...

"My noble friend Lady Jones of Whitchurch recently visited Aponic Ltd, which has developed a vertical soil-less growing system that uses 90% less water than traditional agriculture, runs on rain water and solar power and does not emit harmful run-off into the environment.

We should be spreading these innovations across the world and helping to install them in Africa to ensure that they change things and that we have a sustainable agricultural system throughout the world. I urge the Government to support such innovation."
