Another stunning project completed at Ganges Point on the Shotley Peninsula ✨

We installed this beautiful “Fornasetti” wallpaper in the entrance lobby of a lovely apartment — a real statement piece that transforms the space.

Preparation was key:
✔️ Thorough sanding of all walls using our Mirka sander and dust extraction system
✔️ Full lining with Wallrock Fibreliner for a flawless finish

Training the next generation is a huge part of what we stand for. It’s about passing on skills, building confidence, and making sure high standards continue for years to come.

Jack, our Year 2 apprentice, is continuing to develop his finishing skills using Johnstones Aqua Satin, showing great attention to detail and steady progress.

Meanwhile, Jake, our Year 1 apprentice, is getting hands-on experience applying AF1 to papered ceilings — learning the fundamentals that every great decorator needs.

Everyone starts somewhere, and with the right guidance, support, and opportunities, they grow into skilled professionals.

✔️ Roof cleaned prior to our arrival
✔️ Treated with Torkill anti-fungicidal wash
✔️ Finished with 2 coats of Bedec Paints Superflex in Battleship Grey for a strong, long-lasting result

At JABdec Ltd, quality isn’t optional — it’s our standard.

That’s why on every project, all walls and ceilings are prepared using our M Class sander and dust extraction system. This ensures a cleaner working environment, minimal airborne dust, and most importantly — a perfectly smooth surface ready for finishing.

Preparation is everything in our trade, and we don’t cut corners.

We also take the extra step of straining all our ceiling paint before application, using Albany AF1. This removes any impurities or lumps, giving us a consistent finish and helping achieve that flawless, uniform look every time.

It’s the small details that make a big difference — and it’s why we stand by the quality of our work.

FROM DULL & DATED ➜ TO BRIGHT & TRANSFORMED ✨

This project started with bare woodwork and tired, dingy walls — but careful preparation and professional finishes have completely revitalized the space.

Woodwork preparation:
• All woodwork fully rubbed down
• Uni Primer applied
• Toupret wood filler used where required
• Rubbed down again for a smooth finish
• Second coat of Uni Primer applied
• Toupret Wood Filler and Geocel caulk applied where needed
• Final rub down
• Finished with 2 coats of Johnstone’s Aqua Guard Satin

Walls & ceilings preparation:
• Thoroughly sanded using our Mirka Leros and Deros sanding system with dust extraction

Finishes:
• 2 coats of Johnstone’s Coverplus Brilliant White on ceilings
• 2 coats of Organic Cloth Durable Matt on walls

The result: a vibrant, clean, refreshed space with a durable, professional finish. Proper prep, high-quality materials, and expert application make all the difference.

🔨 Professional preparation with dustless sanding

At JABdec Ltd we believe proper preparation is the key to a long-lasting, high-quality finish. On this project we carried out a full preparation process on the woodwork using our professional Mirka DEROS & DEOS sanders together with a dustless extraction system, keeping the work area clean and ensuring the best possible surface for coating.

Our process included:

• Full rubdown of all bare wood using Mirka DEROS & DEOS with dustless extraction
• Primed with Dulux Uni-Primer – no knotting required
• Filled imperfections with Toupret Wood Filler
• Complete rubdown again for a smooth surface
• 1 x full coat of Dulux Uni-Primer
• Final filling with Toupret Wood Filler where required

The right tools, the right products, and the right preparation make all the difference to the final result. 👌

🌸 Little Greene “Hollyhock” on the walls
✨ Johnstone’s Aqua Gloss on the woodwork
🛠 All Toupret fillers throughout for a flawless finish
