Well today we’ve been to adjust a uPVC double glazed door I fitted in 1987. 36 years before any sort of problem can’t be bad. Fitted the lad’s windows in 1994 and yet to need anything sorting with them. That’s what happens when you fit jobs properly.

In this day and age with so much cctv you’d think people wouldn’t be stupid enough to fly tip. I have you on camera and your mattresses and oil are here to pick back up before I make you famous. Or you can come over the road to my house and pay me for the part of the £260 skip you thought you’d use. Top of Henderson Road, you know who you are and unfortunately for you, so do I.

If you're thinking of having your windows and doors recoloured it's probably worth making sure they're fitted and working correctly first. If they're not and are in need of resetting afterwards you could end up with problems like this where the white of the old panel is now visible. It's also worth making sure any external handles are removed first and lock cylinders are masked up rather than spraying them in with the doors.

Well, facia and cladding isn't my favourite kind of work but if you're going to do it you're best off doing it properly and that means stripping off all the old timber work and replacing it with new. It's always better to explain why a job costs what it costs to do correctly than to cut corners and wait for the problems to come back and bite you.

Isn't it amazing how changing a few glass units to get rid of that diamond lead can drag your property into the 21st century and completely transform it's appearance without the expense of changing the windows !!

Managed to get this door in and sorted before it all locks down again. It's for one of our long time customers and once again he and his wife are over the moon with the job. Nothing better than repeat business, it tells you that you must be doing something right. These are the before and after pictures and what a difference!

Just had two gents come at short notice and fixed two door locks. Mark was very professional and friendly. The charge was much less than I thought it would be. They left after providing the paperwork and a very satisfied customer.

While we're locked down I thought I'd dig out some of the jobs we did just prior to everything being turned upside down.
(Photos 1-4) This was the old Fireplace Centre on Thornholme Road (MG Centre before that) where we removed the old timber shop front and replaced it with a new anthracite grey modern aluminium shopfront and entrance door.
(Photos 5-8) Before and after photos for accommodation doors with hotel key card locking system.
(Photos 9-10) The emergency repair work we are still managing to sort as long as people adhere to the social distancing requirements. Still managing to sort locks and hinges, also a certain amount of reglazing, materials allowing.
Stay safe everyone and we're still here to get you sorted with necessary repairs, as long as it's safe for us and yourselves to do so.

Well another happy customer today and when the job was finished the lady told me I'd replaced some glass units for her in 2002 and she was over the moon so she'd kept my number. Nice to know customers are happy to come back to us. I've been doing this for 37 years now and must be doing something right.
