Trojan Build delivering a clean multi-level garden transformation featuring slate Historic slabs made by Tobermore. Stepping out from the back door, charcoal Tegular tumbled kerbs made by Tobermore create a crisp, solid step down onto the main slate Historics patio, adding contrast and a premium edge while keeping the transition smooth and practical.

The layout then flows down to a second tier patio, again finished in slate Historics made by Tobermore, keeping the design consistent and visually strong across both levels. This lower tier connects to a tidy pathway leading up to the hot tub area, tying the whole garden together into a functional, relaxing space built for everyday use and entertaining. Precision groundwork, sharp lines, and quality materials all combined to create a durable finish that looks as good as it performs.

Another quality shared driveway installation completed by Trojan Build, designed to give both properties their own identity while flowing together as one clean, practical layout.

On one side, we installed a Heather Podesta block driveway laid in a classic herringbone pattern, finished with a double border detail using charcoal and heather Podesta blocks to really frame the space and add contrast. The mix of tones works spot on against the property and gives that premium, well-defined look.

The neighbouring drive was completed using full charcoal Podesta blocks, also laid in a herringbone pattern, keeping things bold, modern, and low-maintenance while clearly separating the two areas visually. All Podesta blocks used are made by Tobermore, known for their durability and sharp finish.

Because the driveway sits on a fairly steep gradient, we installed KL kerbed steps running neatly through the centre, creating safe, practical access on foot without interrupting the overall flow of the drive. The steps also break the slope up nicely and add a strong structural feature to the design.

This project is a great example of how shared driveways can still feel individual, functional, and high-end when they’re planned and installed properly, even on challenging levels.

This project features a heather Shannon block driveway with a clean charcoal border, giving it that sharp contrast and a timeless, professional finish.

A key part of this job was addressing an existing drainage issue at the garage. All surface water was falling toward that area, so we installed a dedicated drainage channel to properly manage runoff and protect the property long-term. Practical solutions done the right way, not just for looks.

The Shannon blocks provide a durable, hard-wearing surface that’s built to last, while the charcoal border neatly frames the driveway and ties everything together. A solid, functional upgrade that completely transforms the entrance to the home.

Another quality transformation completed on this Trojan Build project 🔨

This job features Heather Shannon block paving made by Tobermore, giving the area a clean, timeless finish that really lifts the space. At the rear door, we installed a disabled access ramp, carefully designed for smooth, safe, and practical access without compromising on looks.

Either side of the patio, we created curved garden areas, finished off with 100x100 charcoal tumbled setts to add contrast and define the shape beautifully. The curves soften the overall layout while the charcoal detailing frames the patio perfectly, tying everything together.

A great example of how thoughtful design, accessibility, and quality materials can all work hand in hand. Solid groundwork, clean lines, and attention to detail throughout 💪

Another solid job wrapped up using charcoal Marshalls block paving – 200x100x60mm 💪
This install was all about strength, longevity, and a clean, sharp finish from start to end.

The blocks were laid with precision and care, then fully whacked to ensure everything was properly bedded down and locked into place. Once compacted, kiln-dried sand was swept into the joints, allowing it to settle deep between the blocks for maximum stability and durability. This process is key for preventing movement over time and keeping the paving looking tight and professional.

The charcoal colour gives a modern, sleek look that works perfectly for driveways, paths, and hardstanding areas, while the 200x100x60mm size offers excellent load-bearing strength and a crisp, uniform appearance. Proper preparation, correct compaction, and attention to detail make all the difference, and this job is built to last.

This project features Bracken Historic slabs laid in a beautiful 4-size random pattern, giving the patio a timeless, traditional look that suits the garden perfectly. The mixed sizing really adds character and flow to the space, making it feel natural while still being smart and well-structured.

For the joints on this one, we used kiln dried sand, which is a solid and cost-effective option when installed correctly. It gives a clean finish and does the job well, though it may need topping up over time depending on weather and usage.

For anyone looking for a more low-maintenance and longer-lasting alternative, Geo-Fix is another great option. It’s more durable, helps prevent w**d growth, and doesn’t need topping up anywhere near as often — ideal if you want a patio that stays looking sharp with minimal upkeep.
