It is with great sadness that I issue the below statement.
Over the last 5 years I have worked so hard to create a business that I was proud enough to put my name into as a household brand.
In 2020 I started Harris & Sons Windows Ltd with just me and my van, working all hours to pitch, sell, survey, install and manage the business. Let’s not forget the midnight hours working on social media engagement ideas and jotting down notes for me to address in the morning. (I still do that to this day)
I grew the company from £0 to over half a million at a time where Covid was affecting businesses around the country forcing closure.
We on the other hand felt like Harris & Sons Windows were indestructible and we kept on growing, employing fitting teams and office staff.
Unfortunately, last year a couple of contracts didn’t go to plan and as a company we suffered a major loss due to invoices not being paid when jobs were completed and this had a massive impact on my business.
At the same time, I was going through a really difficult time personally and I allowed this to affect operations within the business and as a result of this, combined with a significant drop in sales due to customer buying habits and a shift in the market, we are left with a very difficult (seemingly impossible) decision to make.
After exploring all of our options that would see us go on, I feel that this is the only viable option and so it is with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of Harris & Sons Windows Ltd.
We are working with our liquidation team who will help us close the company professionally and with respect.
I’d like to thank all of our customers for putting their trust in us over the last 5 years, for allowing me to create and manage beautiful installations and transform their homes through the design and products we offered.
We didn’t always get it right though, there has been some mistakes that were made during the 5 years of operations and situations that I could have handled differently, especially in the last 12 months. To those customers that didn’t experience our usually great service I sincerely apologise.
Thank you to all of you who were involved, staff, suppliers and customers! Without you I wouldn’t have had a business.
