Key turns but your door won't open? Check the handle first.

If it lifts but won't go down, the gearbox is binding. Push the door hard into the frame and force the handle down while holding the key turned. That opens most binding uPVC doors.

Still stuck? The gearbox has failed. Don't buy a new barrel if your key turns and clicks normally, it won't fix it.

Lock change in East Ham, E6.

uPVC front door, euro cylinder, and a key that went in and did nothing. Wouldn't open before we got there and wouldn't open for us either.

Opened it on site, pulled the old cylinder out, fitted a new one. No damage to the door, no damage to the frame, handle stayed where it was. Tested it open, tested it shut, handed the new keys over.
