So I finished my last job as a professional gardener today. Pruning and shaping a couple of small bay trees, which I didn’t manage to finish before I retired.

I kept a few cuttings in order to make some baby bay trees as well.

Dyna fe pawb 😊 I have completed all the work in my book, apart from one small job for a friend. I am now officially retired from the business.

This weeks big job

This week we’ve been working on a set of terraces at a large house in the area. Our brief was to clear vegetation - including Buddleia, bramble, self seeded Ash, Alder and Hazel. We were to leave the mature shrubs, and prune them if need be.

Sowing Parsnip seeds at College today 😊

It’s been a lovely day for cutting hedges. This was a long neglected Privet hedge we reduced by six feet.

The customer can also now watch the wildlife in the field behind her house.

We’ve been on a ground clearance job today. Bashing out bramble and scrub and trimming trees. The customer can see the daffodils now.

Planting Calendula seeds as part of my college course

So I’ve been back in one of my favourite gardens today - for a spring clean (Weeding, edging, raking, pruning and hoeing).

I’ve been working in this garden for two years and this may be my last session here before I finish at the end of the month.
