This post is a prime example of why the correct floor prep is so important. This was a new build and the builder has laid lvt over underfloor heating, apart from the obvious of not using enough latex to properly cover the cables, no moisture suppression was used so the residual moisture in the subfloor has caused the lvt to lift, causing damage to them, as well as being a trip hazard. Unfortunately for this customer they’ve paid for a floor that if laid correctly would’ve lasted 20+ years, it started to fail 6 weeks after completion and now after 2 years is being completely replaced. If you’re potentially spending thousands on your new floor, please do a little research into the products, and the correct installation process, ask your installer questions, and if they can’t answer them or you’re not completely confident in them, find another installer.
