When someone asked if I wanted to get plastered at the weekend, my hand shot straight up! 🍻

Turns out I should have realised they meant working and not heading out for a few drinks. 😆

After a busy weekend, the garden office is now fully plastered and almost ready to use. It's really starting to come together, and I can't wait to see the finished result!

Fully insulated with 100mm Celotex in the walls, floor, and roof, plus an additional 25mm layer over every surface to eliminate cold bridging ❄️➡️☀️ this build stays cool in summer and warm and cosy in winter — all while keeping energy usage to a minimum ⚡🌿

We also installed internal lighting on multiple dimmable circuits 💡 allowing each desk area to have personalised lighting to suit individual preferences.

A fantastic addition to any home, whether you need a home office 💻, hobby room 🎨, gym 💪, or simply extra living space 🛋️

A complete transformation of this downstairs space — and what a difference it makes ✨

We’ve opened up the lounge diner by removing the dividing wall, creating a seamless flow all the way through to the conservatory. The conservatory itself has been fully insulated, fitted with new downlighters, and the floor raised to achieve one level surface throughout the entire downstairs.

To finish it off, new oak laminate flooring has been laid from the front door right through to the back door — and every room in between — tying the whole space together beautifully.

Open, bright, and built for modern living.

From chilly to cosy 🔥🏡
This once-cold conservatory is getting a serious upgrade! We’ve installed a raised, fully insulated floor to bring it level with the rest of the downstairs, and the roof has been insulated with sleek new downlighters added for a warm, modern feel ✨
Next up: plastering to bring it all together 👌
It’s amazing what the right improvements can do — this space is well on its way to becoming a comfortable, year-round room 🙌

Big changes happening on this project 👀✨
The lounge–diner wall is now gone, one doorway has been neatly blocked up, and we’ve added new lighting with hidden TV cabling for that clean, modern finish. The whole space has been freshly plastered and white-washed — now just waiting on the final colour choices 🎨
Not done yet though… keep your eyes peeled! We’ve still got a little more to do before laying a seamless floor throughout the entire downstairs 🙌
Progress is coming together nicely — watch this space! 🏡💪

🔥 Hive Wireless Thermostat Installation Complete 🔥

We recently fitted this Hive wireless thermostat for a customer after having a few issues with their current setup— and it’s a great example of why the wiring side of a job is just as important as the pipework.
👉 Often when a new boiler is installed, the pipework gets updated but the wiring is left as it is. That can mean old, unnecessary components hanging around in the airing cupboard and the boiler not running as efficiently as it could.
In this case:
✅ We removed redundant elements
✅ Optimised the setup for the new boiler
✅ Added a wireless mains switch where running a new cable wasn’t possible
This allows the boiler to properly manage OpenTherm settings and pump overrun, helping to:
✔️ Disperse heat more effectively
✔️ Improve efficiency
✔️ Reduce wear on the boiler over time
Small upgrades like this make a big difference in performance and longevity 👌
If you’re upgrading your heating system, make sure the controls and wiring are up to scratch too!

💧 Have your water bills crept up lately?
You might be paying for water you’re not even using…
Hidden leaks are more common than you’d think. Some are completely out of sight, but others are right in front of us — we just don’t notice them.
A customer mentioned a higher-than-normal bill while I was on another job at their property. A quick check turned into a great example of how sneaky leaks can be 👇
✅ All taps and appliances off
✅ Checked the water meter in the road
➡️ The flow wheel was STILL spinning = water was moving somewhere
First suspects? PRV valves and toilet overflows.
Sure enough — the toilet was overfilling and constantly trickling into the pan. It looked minor, but a 24/7 trickle can waste a huge amount over time.
🚨 The surprising part?
This toilet was plumbed into the hot water supply. So the boiler had been heating water that was literally going straight down the drain!
A small issue, but a big impact on bills.
If your water bill seems higher than it should be, it might be worth a quick check — it could save you more than you think 💦
